Windows 10: Paint 3D crashed after saving, is there any way to recover the file?

As the title says I was halfway through creating a request on Paint 3D for someone, I went to save it and it immediately crashed. There was a recovery file when I reopened it but it said an error had occurred or something when I opened it.

Run App troubleshooter

• Refer to
  fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.
  

Reset Paint 3D app:

• Open ‘Settings’ and click on ‘Update and Security’.
  
• Click on ‘Apps’ and choose ‘Apps and features’.
  
• Locate the ‘Paint 3D’ app and click on it.
  
• Select ‘Advanced options’ and choose ‘Reset’.
  
• Wait for the reset to complete.
  
• Close settings, launch ‘Paint 3D’ and try saving now.

How do I recover Paint 3D files from deleted user account?

I deleted a user account in Win10. Win10 asked me if I wanted to save the files from the account. I said "Absolutely I want to save those files", and I clicked the corresponding button. When I opened Paint 3D, NONE OF THE FILES WERE THERE.

I looked in the save location:

%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.MSPaint_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\Projects

And it was a nightmare (in a couple of ways). First, the files are not named correctly, second none of my folders or files were in the save location.

How do I recover those Paint 3D files from the deleted user account, please? Start with the cheapest/ simplest solution and work up to the heavy stuff.

Failing to recover these elementary student art project Paint 3D files is absolutely unacceptable.
