Windows 10: Paint 3D Error - You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link

I need help fixing this error it happens when I click on open with paint 3d and when i try to change the app png files open with it does not show in the open with listOS: Windows 10Free space on C:\ drive: 49.2 GB free of 476 GB

Just to make it simple for you, just could always do this





If you don't get Paint 3D in the list as i do, simply press Choose another app, and pick Paint 3D in the list.

But if you want to fix the context menu download,
Default Programs Editor (Context Menu) > run the program > find the correct file type > edit the filetype > done.

 

MS Paint and Paint 3D.

Still using WIN 10 (my PC won't run 11). I still make use of both MS Paint and Paint 3D. Since the recent Windows update KB5039211 the button in Paint "edit with Paint 3D" no longer works. Instead I get a message "You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link. Look for an app in the Microsoft Store". Clicking "OK" takes me to the MS Store indicating Paint 3D is installed. I can then open it and select the Paint image I want. Which means 8 mouse clicks instead of one. The other annoyance is that, right clicking on an image and selecting "open with" brings up a list of all my image editing apps. Except Paint 3D. I did think about uninstalling the update but I am wary of doing that as it includes a security update. So another solution please.

Yesterday, the Paint 3d app worked perfectly fine. However, now whenever I try to use the "Open with Paint 3d" option when you right click an image, it tells me "You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link" (see attached image).

Paint 3d itself seems to be fine. I can open it and select images by browsing for them, but my system doesn't believe I even have that app, as I can't even select it with "Open with" or "Choose another app" options.
