Windows 10: Paint 3D model textures turning black after exporting

Hello !

I've been experiencing issues while exporting 3D models made in Paint 3D. Yes I could use another app, but this one by far is the easiest to use and it's also free. The models look fine in the app but after I export them, most of the model just turns black example pictures will be shown, and once I try heading back to paint 3D, it shows "The app must be closed". I've tried everything from updating my laptop, to factory resetting it. It doesn't happen to a few of them, but it does happen to most which is a bit frustrating. If anyone knows how to fix this, please do help.

3D Models from Paint 3D appear weirdly textured and glitchy.

We understand your concern as the texture of the model is changing that you are creating in Paint 3D app.

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

• What is the Windows 10 version and Build installed? (Type winver in Windows search/Run command)
• What is the Paint 3D app version currently installed on the PC?
• Did you try saving the 3D model in a different format?
• What happens when you open the same 3D model in 3D Viewer or 3D Builder app?

Meanwhile, we would like you to reset the Paint 3D app and check if you have the same issue.

1. Press Windows + I key to launch Windows settings.
2. Click on Apps and select Apps & feature from the left pane.
3. Scroll down and select Paint 3D app on the right pane.
4. Click on Advanced option and then click on Reset.
5. Restart the PC and then launch the Paint 3D app.

Also try creating a 3D model in 3D builder and then check it on the Office PowerPoint app.

Paint 3D Won't Save Model Or Texture

Everytime I try to export model and texture, it keeps crashing

I Tried reseting my PC, nothing happened, uninstalled and reinstalled

nothing, and even cleared some space, still nothing

Importing models into Paint 3D

May I know from where you are importing the fbx and obj files?

Ideally, when you are trying to import/export fbx and obj files, make sure the resolution is low. Meanwhile, when you export the 3D model, I suggest you to reduce the polygon face count to the minimum and try to import it on Paint 3D and try
to apply the texture map and check. During the export of FBX file from any 3D software that you are using, put a check mark on Textures and Materials and export it. By doing this, you will be able to adjust the mapping in Paint 3D.

However, I commend and appreciate you for recognizing this behavior. This is a valuable suggestion as there may be other users with a similar requirement. Hence, I suggest you to leave a
