Windows 10: Paint 3d Problem: "You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link"

Yesterday, the Paint 3d app worked perfectly fine. However, now whenever I try to use the "Open with Paint 3d" option when you right click an image, it tells me "You'll need a new app to open this ms-paint link" see attached image. Paint 3d itself seems to be fine. I can open it and select images by browsing for them, but my system doesn't believe I even have that app, as I can't even select it with "Open with" or "Choose another app" options.

Just to make it simple for you, just could always do this





If you don't get Paint 3D in the list as i do, simply press Choose another app, and pick Paint 3D in the list.

But if you want to fix the context menu download,
Default Programs Editor (Context Menu) > run the program > find the correct file type > edit the filetype > done.

I suggest you should repair your Paint 3D app

Firstly, try to reset this app. Follow the steps below:

1). Click on 'Windows key + I' together and open 'Settings'

2). Tap on Apps - Apps & features - Paint 3D - Advanced options

3). Tap on 'Reset'

Next, uninstall and reinstall Paint 3D app. Follow the steps below:

1). Click on the Start button

2). Type in 'Windows PowerShell' - right click on it - choose 'Run as administrator'.

3). Copy / paste the command below without quotes.

'Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.MSPaint | Remove-AppxPackage'

4). Click on Enter

5). Go to the Microsoft Store to download and reinstall the Paint 3D app.

 

Paint : Remove "open paint 3d" within MS Paint

Hi,

I have completely removed Paint 3D

In MS Paint their is a option at the top that says "Open Paint 3D"

how can i remove that?
