Windows 10: Paint Shop Pro 7 not opening image with mouse double left click

Paint Shop Pro7 worked perfectly with Windows10. With Windows 11 if I double left click on a JPG, BMP or similar file it asks "Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device". If I say yes it opens PSP but does not show the image. I then have to go to File, then open or browse, to search for the image. I have ensured JPG and other files are set to open with Paint Shop Pro7 and ticked them in the PSP 7 program. Corel were not able to help when I phoned them as it is an old program. I love this version and don't want to upgrade. Any suggestions appreciate

Is Jasc Paint Shop Pro Version 7 compatible with Windows 10?

I see that "Paint Shop Pro Anniversary Version 7" is listed as compatible with Windows 10. But it does not specify Jasc, and I don't know if my version is "Anniversary". Can anyone confirm that the Jasc Paint Shop Pro version 7 is compatible
too?

 

Paint Shop Pro 7: Images Won't Open in PSP fom File Explorer

Since the Windows 10 Spring update my Paint Shop Pro 7.04 (PSP7) has never worked right. Ive gone through every compatibility setting and they dont fix the following problem:

When I click on an image file in File Explorer (all my image extensions are set to open with PSP and it used to work ok) PSP opens but the image doesn't load in PSP. The only way for me to open up an image file in PSP is through the file menu in PSP (Open or Browse).

Any suggestions anyone? Ive searched a lot and no one else seems to have this problem. Its a bit baffling.

Correct. And in the PSP9 folder you will also find an Animation Shop 3 folder. You need to open it and again... look for the .msi file to install Animation Shop 3. In the PSP 7.04 version... Animation Shop 3 will install automatically. No need for separate install. But the directions are in the included .zip file above. *Smile
