    Corel Paint Shop Pro X is the rebranded version 10 of Corel Paint Shop Pro (PSP), rather old. It may also be a problem between 32-bit and 64-bit version of Win10.

    The latest version I've been offered in E-Mail for Upgrading is X9, seems Corel is changing the nomenclature of programs but haven't with WordPerfect yet.

    Hi everyone,

    Just to say, I was having the same issues listed here (neither PaintShop Pro X2 or X9 would install on the latest Windows 10), but I didn't have any previous drivers which I could rollback to.

    But it didn't matter.

    All I needed to do was:

    • disable the current Intel Graphics driver
    • install Paint Shop Pro
    • re-enable the graphics driver
    Strangely, this worked fine.

    Obviously, when you disable the driver, any external monitors will probably stop displaying anything, but once PSP is installed, you can re-enable the driver, and everything works absolutely fine.

    So (for me) it just seems to be having the driver enabled
    during installation which is the problem.

    Thanks for this information. Even installing with compatibility modes, etc. I am still getting the buffer overrun error and the immediate shutdown of Paint Shop Pro. I decided I was due for an update and have downloaded the trial version of PSP X9.

    I appreciate your having tried to help me.
