Windows 10: Pairing New Bluetooth Speaker BREAKS pairing w/ old BT speaker

Greetings,

I got a new BT speaker for the wifey. Wanted to test it on my laptop first. Worked great. Removed pairing, gave her the speaker. I went to repair my old speaker, it pairs, but disconnects if SLEEP or REBOOT happens. When it tries to reconnect -- fails. In Action Center you can watch that speaker name momentarily TWITCH in and out of view.

I've tried unpairing/repairing. I've tried throwing out all Bluetooth drivers and rebooting. I've tried a BIOS update on that Lenovo. I'm certain the hardware didn't magically break in coincidence with the pairing of the other speaker.

Am I missing something? Did an SFC, did a troubleshooter. Nada pinata.

Sometimes I have a Bluetooth device that is paired but does not want to connect. What works for me is to select the device and then select Remove device. After I do that I can re-pair again. Then the device will connect again.

"My symptoms:
- Previously working bluetooth speaker (UE BOOM 2 in my case) stops connecting
- Windows 10 'Bluetooth and other devices' menu shows the device as Paired
- Pressing connect makes it attempt to connect but fails then it goes back to Paired
- Remove device hides the device from the menu, but as soon as you turn bluetooth on and off, or restart the computer, the device comes back
- You pull your hair out."

So there's hope.

(I wonder if that person did what I did first. That they paired a different speaker. The un-paired it. And the hidden issue is that it actually doesn't unpair at all but create a conflict. That's where my hunch is.)
