Windows 10: Paperport 14.5 Compatibility Error Message

Paper Port 14.5 gave an error message about XP mode being used and stopping PP from opening.

I tried everything without success including trying to make changes in Regedit,nothing worked.

What did was right clicking on the logo,changing the resolution in the compatability tab and changing back by using the computers resolution to normal 1900x600.

Did not really know what I was doing but it worked.

Paperport 14.5 Compatibility Error Message

Problem solved today. I uninstalled Paperport, ran a registry cleaner (System Mechanic), reinstalled Paperport 14, then ran the Paperport 14.5. Now it opens without any error message. My registry was very bloated and full of garbage files. I hope this
helps others.

Compatibility problem with Paperport Version 14 in Windows 10

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue!

You may need to Run the compatibility troubleshooter. But first, uninstall the program the follow these steps:

1- Right click or hold tap on the “Paperport 14” executable installation file.

2- Left click or tap on the “Troubleshoot Compatibility” feature.

3- After the process has finished, left click or tap on the “Troubleshoot program” feature.

4- Now in the next window that appears, check the box next to “The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won’t install or run now”.

5- Left click or tap on the “Next” button to proceed.

6- In the next window you will need to select the previous version of Windows you know that the Paperport 14 app worked fine.

7- Left click or tap on the “Next” button again.

Now you will need to follow the instructions on the screen to finish the installation of the “Paperport 14” app.

8- After the installation has finished, choose the option “Yes, save these settings for this program”.

9- After the changes are saved, you will need to left click or tap on the “Close” button and try to run your Paperport 14 application.
