    Part of my SSD size is gone


    Hi everyone, I need you help on this.I have an SSD of 1tb on which I created 2 partitions, one for Ubuntu and another one for Windows 10, I installed windows after ubuntu and this was giving me some troubles so I decided to erase everything and then install correctly windows and ubuntu. But...I messed up everything, I connected the drive to a PC through a sata adapter, read the disk and opened disk management. I had 4 partitions, 2 main partitions for ubuntu and windows and 2 little partitions of some mb for what I think was booting the two OS. I removed ubuntu portion and shrunk to 60 gbs win

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    Follow the steps to change the font size:

    • Click on "Windows logo" and select "Settings".
    • Select "System".
    • You can change the font size here.

    Follow the steps to go to Control Panel:

    • Type "Control Panel" in the search bar.
    • Select "Control Panel" from suggestions.

    Part of my SSD size is gone

    Storage showing as double the actual SSD size

    Running Windows 10 Home 20H2 (Build 19042.964) on an AMD based Windows Surface Laptop 4 with 512GB SSD.

    Even though it has a 512GB SDD as confirmed by both disk management and file explorer, settings -> system -> Storage reports the size as 951GB! I have searched but struggling to discover how to get it to report the real size.

    Per the image below it shows
    • 553GB used - bigger than the size of the SDD
      519GB in system & reserved

    Have tried various options including disk cleanup, SFC and DSIM to get it to report the correct size but to no avail. Any suggestions on how to correct this much appreciated?
