Windows 10: PART2 TO LOCKED "Windows 10 causing sudden hard drive death"

May 2020 and nearly new win10 pc v1909 with nearly new Seagate Barracuda 2TB began BSOD on intel board, board beeping and blue screen gives data write error. I take the drive out and while it's in my hand I feel and hear this horrid shuttering and grinding, with intel board beeping write error. Thus Win10 DOA, killed the drive., and lost circa 400GB of personal and work data. Haven't slept in days since ****...

Hard drive/ OS issue

a guy suggested :

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

In order to understand the issue in a better manner, please share the details.

  Do you see any error code or error message on the screen?

  Are you receiving any BSOD error on the screen?

  What is the status when you try to power on the system?
  

I suggest you to perform start up repair from Windows Recovery Environment. Follow the below procedure and check if it resolves the issue.

To get to Windows Startup Settings in the Windows Recovery Environment. You may follow the steps provided below and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

If you don't have a disk or USB, download the ISO from a working computer and try creating a bootable disk or USB.

  If you can't start your PC, follow these instructions to get to the Windows Recovery Environment.
  
• 
  Start your computer from the installation media, Insert the DVD or USB flash drive and restart your computer.
  
  
  
• 
  If you see a message asking you to “Press any key to boot from DVD,” do so. If you don’t see the message, you might need to change the boot order in your computer's BIOS settings so that it first starts from the DVD or USB.
  
  
  
• 
  When you see the Install Windows page, tap or click Repair your computer to start the Windows Recovery Environment.
  
• 
  In the Windows Recovery Environment, on the Choose an option screen, tap or click Troubleshoot.
  
• 
  Tap or click, advanced options and then click on Startup repair.
  
  After this complete the repair and see if you are able to boot in to your computer.
