Windows 10: Partially opened/restored down screen is not holding its position until cursor reaches the...

Hi.. when I opened a browser in full screen dell vostro, windows 10 home and then i opened another application like calculator. Before the mouse cursor reach calculator, the calculator is hiding behind/disappearing from top of the browser screen. can someone assist me with the settings, so that the calculator stay above the browser until i choose the calculator to minimize.

Hold to position cursor no longer works in WP8.1

It does work, but they have done away with the silly offset. Just hold over where U want the cursor, once positioned U can move around. Works better.

So I just tried to write a text message on 8.1 Devloper Preview, and found I couldn't re-position the cursor using the old "hold" technique. How is this now done?? Hope this isn't a bug, as will make correcting typos difficult.

 

How to restore offscreen VLC?


If I've understood the problem correctly(?), you might try this:

1. Open VLC and select it in the taskbar so it is the currently selected application (even though you can't see it)
2. Let go of the mouse and be careful not to move it until step 6
3. Use the Alt-Spacebar key combination
4. There should be a little pop-up menu which appears. If 'Move' is an option, use the downward cursor/arrow key to select it and press enter. If 'Restore' is an option, select that option with the cursor keys, press Enter and go back to step 3
5. Once you've selected Move, be careful to not move the mouse. Instead, hit one of the cursor/arrow keys (left/right/up/down) a couple of times
6. *Then* move the mouse. With any luck the VLC window should come into view and you can re-position it.
