Partially roll-back a Windows update Sound problem

I'm running Windows 10 on an Apple Mac Pro i.e. dual booting with Boot Camp and it's all been working fine for 2 years or more - BUT - just over a week ago, Windows did a massive update and I've been left in a situation where none of my system sounds play out any more not even those various dings and pings etc when dialog boxes pop up.

I've just opened Device Manager and it's listing 2 x onboard sound devices:- 1AMD High Definition Audio Device, and 2 Cirrus Logic CCS4208 AB120.

If I use Device manager to check recent events, both devices show a driver update on8th Aug 2020 - and both are showing errors like this:-

    Device HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1013&DEV_4208&SUBSYS_106B7800&REV_1003\4&2d16e8f1&0&0001 requires further installation

I've a feeling that Macs require a special sound driver so I should probably roll back somehow to the previous one. Is it possible to roll back sound drivers without affecting anything else? I can't see an obvious way to do it in Device Manager.

    :)
