Windows 10: Password changed, I didn’t change it - locked out of laptop

    Password changed, I didn’t change it - locked out of laptop


    I pressed window key + R to change my user’s name, changed it, restarted my PC and it changed the password. Can’t get in at all and I didn’t touch the password setting. It doesn’t show a power button to restart the pc to go into recovery mode. Any options?

    change the lock screen password

    Let us resolve you concern regarding on how you can change your lock screen password. We suggest that you follow the steps below:

    • Press the Windows key; then, select Settings.
    • Click Accounts; then, Sign-In Options.
    • Tap the Change button in the Password section.
    • Re-enter your password; then, create a new password.

    My Asus laptop didn`t accept the password, Microsoft asked to change it

    Today my Asus laptop didn`t accept the usual password I have been using for years. A note asked me to reset Microsoft password and after that, using this new password, I was able to start my computer.

    Anybody knows why did this happen? Since when Microsoft is controlling my personal computer in such a way that I can`t even open if they don`t want to?
