Windows 10: Password Incorrect after installing KB4571756

After installing the above update I am unable to log back in to the machine, I use a local account with password to sign in. Going in to recovery console and uninstalling update and rebooting allows access as per normal, reinstall the update and issue returns, this is a repeatable occurrence. Cannot log in to Safe mode either with the update installed. I have currently uninstalled update and disabled WUS. This has occurred on both of my HP laptops.

Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x8007000d)

I tried the steps found in

for problem:

None of those steps helped.

The Password is Incorrect

I have tried login in to my computer on Windows 10 but it shows password is incorrect. I have followed the steps indicated but it is still showing that the password is incorrect. Please advise.

 

Email clients not remembering passwords

Hi all

A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

It returns with incorrect password.

Any suggestions?
