Windows 10: Password incorrect? Help!

I just had to take my computer in to get windows 10 put back on, as 11 ended up giving me the blue window of death. I’m trying to log into windows as everything was wiped. It lets me put in my account email and password, but then when it asked for my current windows password one last time it’s telling me that it’s wrong. I’ve tried everything I can think of and it’s still telling me it’s wrong. I think I must confusing the Microsoft account with my live account? Im at a loss… I’ve reset my password to something new and it’s still doing this… what am I doing wrong?

The Password is Incorrect

I have tried login in to my computer on Windows 10 but it shows password is incorrect. I have followed the steps indicated but it is still showing that the password is incorrect. Please advise.

Like I said in the post before, I did not set up two-step verification. After the hard reset, when the account did not sync due to 'incorrect password', I tried to set it up and then accessed the MS Account with the app password but it still declared the
password incorrect. I immediately turned off two-step.

How do I get out of safe mode so I can reset my settings?

1. Press Windows + R keys to open Run command.
2. Type msconfig and press Enter.
3. In the window, click on Boot tab.
4. uncheck Safe boot, click on Apply and Ok. Restart

Not sure why it started in Safe mode. May have been out of sync with your phone from prev incorrect password. See if restart fixes. At least, you know what your universal MS password is. *Wink
