Windows 10: Password-less signi in not workind 20H2

My wife and I are the only users of our home pc and would like to be able to do away with passwords. I did not have the "netplwiz box" so I followed the directions (altering the registry) to change the dword from 2 to 0. The box is now back but does not seem to be working - I can only move the cursor when the box is checked (seems counter-intuitive) and even though I make the change to one user or the other, both of us must still enter a password to sign in. Any help will be appreciated.

P.S. I'm a retired computer programmer and should be able to get this to work...

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?
