Windows 10: Password not accepted after activation of Win11 product key, CMD does not accept username,

Hi there, after using solely a single user on a PC before activating Win 11 with a product key, my user worked somewhat fine. After activation of Win 11, the PC does not any longer accept the previously set local password nor the repetitively changed password linked to the respective Microsoft account. When trying to reset the password with CMD, the user is not recognized but can be found within the C directory as user. How can I login to my computer?

Windows 10 Product Key not accepted

We have a client using a Windows 10 Surface, purchased some years ago.

The windows installation is asking for its activation key, which is not currently known, we have tried the following:

CMD: wmic path softwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey -> This gives a key that windows does not accept

PShell: PS C:\Users\jordan> powershell "(Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey" -> gives the same key

Registry: @last product key -> different key, not accepted

Registry: @Backup product key -> 3rd different key, not accepted.

The user in question was activated and fully working until recently, any advice appreciated.

I got that Hans, but if this steps are taken:

• create the install media
• boot from install media
• format the drive
• begin the install
• skip the key (since it does not accept the w8.1 key)
• finish install

Then what happens? Am I just SOL? Do I have to pay for Windows AGAIN? There has got to be a way to call MS and "convert" a key, or get a replacement one...
