    password not recognised after BSOD

For the last 3 or 4 updates I've been getting a BSOD on the restart. Until the latest 21H1 the stop code was 'Page fault in unpaged area'. After several retries the system recovered. Today, after installing 21H1, the BSOD stop code was Kernal error. Several retries didn't solve it so I tried the reset option but, when I supplied my password I was told the password wasn't recognised. I was stuck and, after another few retries was eventually relieved to boot properly. I then tried logging in to my Microsoft account, whereupon it accepted my password. Lost My Administrator Password

To which "this" are you referring?
    - If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
    - If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.

    Computer won't recognise my password

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    • What is the version and edition of your Operating system?
    • How many user accounts do you have on this computer?
    • I would suggest you to try the below methods.
I suggest you to try the following troubleshooting steps to fix your issue.

Method 1: Try disconnecting the Network cable or disconnect from the Wi-Fi and try the first password, if it does not work try all the passwords that you have reset.

    Method 2:When
    you can't
    sign into
    your Microsoft account.

    Hope it helps.
