Windows 10: Password option no longer available, PIN was never set, unable to sign in

On my mothers laptop, she only had a password setup for the login, she never setup a PIN number. Suddenly, the password sign in option is no longer available. Only the PIN number and face ID. Her Face ID would only recognize her with a certain pair of glasses on, which she no longer has, so that failed to login, and our ONLY option is now PIN code required to sign in. She never set up a pin code. So I clicked the 'forgot pin number' option, but all that does is change the sign in screen to only say 'pin code required to sign in' and zero other things on the screen. PIN isn't available and missing it in Sign-in Options setting.

Hi,

Since yesterday I discovered that I can no longer use my fingerprint reader and PIN to log into my Windows 10 . I also can no longer open outlook email accounts, Windows Store, and some applications that are downloaded from the Windows store.

Every time I want to open an application I always get :

However, the PIN setting no longer appears in Sign-in Options.





I have reading how to fix this problem and have done the following :
1. Delete or clear Ngc folder,
2. Switch my account from Local Account to Microsoft Account or vice versa,
3. Change local password and or Microsoft Account password,
3. Update my Windows,
4. Perform Code:

and Code:

But none of the above list can solve this problem. I can survive without a PIN when logging in, but not being able to use some of these applications is annoying

What can I do to solve this problem?

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Unable to Sign in with Pin and it no longer gives me the option to sign in with my password instead

Hi there,

I was testing my features. I signed into my microsoft account on the web browser of my device and I said find my device and locked it. Now I don't know how to get back into it.

On the sign in screen of my Windows 10 laptop it gives me the option to put in my pin (the pin I've always used is not working). I always used to be able to toggle between using pin or password, the option to use password is no longer available. Please assist me as I don't know how to get back into my laptop.
