    Password protection for Windows 11 PC: What does the "apps and services" part mean?


    I was helping an elderly friend with her Windows 11 computer and noticed that she had no sign-in security. Living in a facility where the staff has a master key to her apartment, I thought she should have at least a password for logging in. I went to set it up in accounts, but I hesitated and didn’t go ahead with it, because it says “Sign in to Windows, apps, and services.” I only want her to need to sign in to Windows and wasn’t sure how to interpret “Windows, apps, and services”. I know in Windows 10, I don’t have to sign into any apps except Microsoft apps, like Office 365 which I don’t us

    My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

    Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
    Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

    Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
    Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix

    Hi,

    I would suggest you to provide some information to help you better.

    • Are you referring to BIOS password as Boot password?
    • Is it a login password which you are referring when Windows starts?
    If Login password, provided you are using Local Account on Windows 10 you may follow the below steps:
    • Press Windows + R keys to open Run command
    • Type " control userpasswords2 "
    • Select the account and uncheck "user must login with password"
    • Select apply and Ok.
    If Boot password you may have to contact your computer manufacturer.

    windows xp installation and dual core am

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
