Windows 10: Password temporary stopped then started to work later.

Preface: I have windows 10 laptop that I did not use for a few years. I decided to get it updated and patched. I updated and patched to latest version of Windows 10, as of this post. I used the same password continuously through the updating/restart process. About 6x different times.Bug: logging in today, the password on the computer did not work. The login would take a long time to try and authenticate ~10+ seconds Like it was going out to the web to authenticate maybe?. I typed it in a few times and pressed one key at a time to verify that I did not mistake the password. Still did not work

Bug: logging in today, the password on the computer did not work. The login would take a long time to try and authenticate ~10+ seconds (Like it was going out to the web to authenticate maybe?). I typed it in a few times and pressed one key at a time to verify that I did not mistake the password. Still did not work. I restarted the computer and tried again still did not work. the 4th time I restarted my computer and turned off wifi. I was able to login with the password that was not working the previous 3 computer restarts.

To verify that I could still login while connected to the wifi, I restarted my computer a 5th time, and while connected to the internet entered the password and am able to gain entry. Too sum up this bug, Failed to login with "Incorrect password" first 3 startups, then the same password worked on the 4th and 5th.

I look online to see if others were having this issue but I couldn't find any where a local password worked before updates, then after updates stopped working for three restarts, then started to work again.

I believe this might be a novel bug introduced in a recent Windows 10 update. That affected the local login.

If I had to guess how the Windows 10 update messed up the login process.

• Windows tries to authenticate local administration account against a live.com account that doesn't exist (None set on machine).
  
• Keyboard language being set to a different language after update.
  
• Windows updated hashing algorithm, causing the correct password to not authenticate.

I am keen to resolve this issue as the answer provided does not resolve.

As outlined above, I have followed Steps 1, 2, 3. When I get to Step 4, I select the Send a code to my phone option (Call ** ******47), I then insert the last four digits of the phone number as requested and I receive the following
error:

• There's a temporary problem with the service. Please try again. If you continue to get this message, try again later.

Can you please advise how I can resolve this issue to reset or recover the password such that we can log into Windows???
