  1. Password update is not working with one of my devices

I recently did some cleanup work in my account and replaced an old email that was being used as my user ID. After doing so, I was able to login using 2 of my 3 devices, but the 3rd device XPS laptop doesn’t like the password, which I have now reset 6 times. I believe it is because the windows user ID for the laptop may still be old email address that has since been deleted from my Microsoft account. The login screen does not offer an option to change the user ID, the screen only allows a password to be entered. I am hoping there is a solution without having to factory reset the laptop losi

    admin password?

You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

  3. Vista Pre-SP1 vs. Vista SP1

I've been Windows Updating for two straight days and I finally saw SP1. If you want to troubleshoot it, follow these steps:

    • Show hidden updates
    • Manually install any failed updates (google the KB_____ and install from the windows site)
    • Make sure everything in Device Manager is good to go
I had to do step two for like 4 or 5 updates to be able to see SP1.

Any other benchmarks you guys want to see? I might try PCMark05 (I think it works on Vista).

    Lost My Administrator Password

To which "this" are you referring?
    - If you are following the tutorial Bree suggested in the very first reply to your question then what you need to do at each step is explained in detail. So which step are you at?
    - If you are following a different procedure then state what it is and which step you are at. If, for example, you are trying to manually enable the Built-In Admin as suggested in post #11 then that account has no password.
