    Password won't work after quality update


    So a few days ago i installed the latest quality update (2020-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems (KB4571756)). When attempting to login after the update my password was registering as incorrect. (This is just a local account pw, not for my overall ms account).

    I know my password hasn't changed and should work because when I go into the system restore screen and it asks me for my account pw it works fine. So I uninstalled the update and my password worked again. I tried the update again thinking the issue might've been a one off thing but, low and behold, same exact issue.

    I've tried to do some trouble shooting on this issue and it seems fairly common but it's incredibly difficult to find a solid solution.

    I've tried booting in safe mode and I've tried using the on screen keyboard with no success.

    Luckily I can simply ignore the update prompt when shutting down but I would like to be able to continue to update my PC. Does anyone have any advice for me here? Thanks much.
