Windows 10: Password

I don't know what those idiots are doing at MS but I am ticked off.


This morning my computer required me to use my password to login. I set my computer up to NOT use the password. I have not used that password for years. I have programs to remember my passwords. I had one h3ll of a time to get my password.


Every time MS decides to update some app they also reset which default programs to use for opening pictures or documents. I have my own choices and I don't need them resetting my preferences every time they decide to update something. And to top it all off they set everything back to their programs.


I would complain right to MS but they don't seem to have a way to do that and I have other things to do to bother looking further.


This is MY computer not MS and they should not be changing my settings. They need to learn about property rights.

Password issue

After going through the steps to make a new password, after a week or two, my login credentials are no longer valid. I'm forced to make a new password all over again. It seems to happen if I don't login in a certain period of time. Does our passwords expire???

Reset forgotten/lost main user password in Linux Mint - Linux Mint Community
You can reset your password following the next steps:

• Reboot your computer / Turn your computer on.
• Hold down the Shift key at the start of the boot process to enable the GNU GRUB boot menu (if it does not show)
• Press ESC at the GNU GRUB prompt.
• Press e for edit.
• Use the Arrow keys to highlight the line that begins with kernel and press the e key.
• Go to the very end of the line and add rw init=/bin/bash
• Press Enter and then press b to boot your system.
• Your system will boot up to a passwordless root shell.
• Type in passwd yourusername
• Set your new password.
• Restart your system.
