Windows 10: Passwords and log on information

Every time I restart all passwords and login information is lost. Have to log in to everything manually.

Resetting log in password

I understand that you want to delete another user’s password when logging into your computer. I will try to help you with this issue.

If the other user account is a local account with a password then you need to be logged in as admin to follow these steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated command prompt.
  
• 
  Type “netplwiz” without quotes.
  
• 
  In the User accounts window, uncheck the box for “Users must enter a user name password to use this computer”.
  
• 
  On the next window enter your username and password.
  

Click OK and restart your computer to see the effect.

Unable to log into laptop after changing password.

We understand how difficult it could be and we appreciate the time and effort that you have taken to work this issue. However, in order to get clarity, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

1. Were you using the “Old email (account) address” regardless of not using laptop?
   
2. Are both the email addresses linked?
   
3. Could you please let us know, where exactly you get prompt for the password for the “Old email address” in the desktop?
   
4. What is the exact error message you get when you try to log in to laptop?
   
5. Does your desktop has two user profiles?
   

In the meantime, we would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check.



You would need to have internet connection in laptop, so that the password change could get updated and it seems that the laptop is not connected to the internet, we would suggest you to connect Ethernet cable to laptop and then
try logging in to the laptop with the new password for the old email address.

Can't change password to log in windows or add pin

The issue you are experiencing may have something to do with your profile or with the Windows components of your device. That being said, we will be performing some troubleshooting steps to isolate the cause of this problem. To start, we suggest that you
change your password via https://account.microsoft.com/. Here's how:

• Log in your account via
  https://account.microsoft.com/.
• Go to the Security tab.
• Click on CHANGE PASSWORD.
• Change your password.
• Select Save.

Once done, log in your account to your device using the new password. Please post back with the result for further assistance.
