Windows 10: Pasting large portions of an image in Paint leaves smearing of colors on left-most side of...

I have a laptop with Windows 11 built-in, and I have this major problem with MS Paint. Whenever I try to copy and paste large portions of an image, the solid colors feel like they're smeared on the left-hand side of said colors. For example, when pasting a large portion of an image with a solid-colored background and then using the fill tool to replace the background color, what's on the left side stays the same color, even around objects in said image.

MS Paint Paste Image Problem

Still looking for a solution. This is vexing since I have previously cropped images and transparent copied and pasted them into other images with no problem. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong this time. First of all, your previous reply said that the
"...canvas size set to my Paint application does not fit with the image you've edited." Therefore I reduced the copied image to a size that fits within the destination image but the problem was still there. As to my response to your latest reply, I don't
understand your reference to a "different texture" of the color palette. Can you be more specific? As to the suggestion of changing color 2 of the eraser tool to black, I used a black background just to illustrate the problem. The actual copied image will
be pasted onto a landscape scene with many colors so I'm not sure that changing color 2 to black will help.

Also, the issue of random black pixels added here and there as well as a black "smear" on the base of cupola has not been addressed.

 

MS Paint Paste Image Problem

Paint left white artifacts around the edges of an image pasted onto another image. How can I get rid of these?

Specifics:

I have Windows 10, latest update (today) with MS Paint on a PC

1. Trimmed part of an image using the background color set to white with the eraser tool

2. Selected all with transparent selection active

3. Copied image to the clipboard

4. Opened another image and set selection type to Transparent

5. Pasted original image. It left white artifacts around the edges of the pasted image.
