Unrecognized Billing charge from Microsoft

This article will guide you in investigating an unrecognized billing charge from Microsoft for a product you did not purchase.

How does an unidentified Billing charge from Microsoft look like

Typically, a charge from Microsoft would be in the name of Msbill.info on your bank statement of your account, something like this:

MICROSOFT*MICROSOFT 365 PMSBILL.INFO WA

As per the statement, the payment was made for Microsoft 365. However, sometimes the payment description may not indicate the reason for the payment.

Steps to do for reversing and refund for a Billing Charge

1. Additional Microsoft Account: It might be the case that you have another Microsoft Account, and the purchase was made from that. We recommend you check the Payments Page from all of the accounts you own.
   
2. Family Member: One of your family members possibly used your card and made a transaction using it. We recommend checking out all the Family members' Microsoft accounts.
   
3. Chargeback: If you are sure that no one you know performed a transaction, your Card details were stolen and used by someone you don't know. In this case, you must contact your bank about a chargeback. We recommend calling your bank immediately to block the card. Please note that repeated Chargebacks are considered as a fraud.
   
4. Charge for your pre-order: It is possible that you were charged for a pre-order for a product you ordered and is ready to ship.

APO Option for Microsoft Account Payment Options

• Where are you trying to add the APO address?
  

Under "Account">""Payment Options">"Add Payment Option">"Choose Payment Option to Add">"Add a credit card or debit card", the drop down menu for "State" does not include AE or AP.
