Windows 10: Payments with ‘Microsoft Store’; is there an easy one?

Every so often I come across the line: ‘The HEVC video extension is required to display this file’. That may also happen when trying to look at a still picture. The line below reads: ‘Download and instal it now’.I do like am told and ‘Microsoft Store’ opens with the item I wish to instal, and under the the name of the item ’HEVC video extension’ I am shown a price of about $1 including VAT. I am asked ‘’Choose a way to pay’. I choose ‘redeeming’ a gift card and then I am asked to type the card's 25 characters.I type the 25 characters and, instead of spending the dollar for being able to look
