  1. PC audio gone after update

Ok so about 2 weeks ago a update installed on my TG01-0023W HP Pavilion Gaming PC and all the audio just went out so I decided to search for a fix like anyone would, I then found the option to restore my PC to an earlier date before the update. But all of a sudden yesterday the audio cut out againi know its because I didn't pause update, I forgot but this time its worse, I still have no audio but now I have no devices in my output devices, and a x over the mic in the bottom right, I also have no audio outputs in my device manager like RealtekR or Nvidia High Defeniition Audio but they wh

  2. red X by audio after 1709 update - audio device gone in device manager.

Just updated to 1709, and got a red X by the speaker symbol. All instructions say "manually update the driver, or, de-install / re-install, or perform an automatic update... there's nothing to de-install / re-install and update. I was going to manually update
the inf driver, but there is no audio or sound speaker symbols listed in my device manager - gone!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

    Lars

  3. Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

  4. PC audio gone after update

    AUDIO SERVICE NOT WORKING.

    Hi,

In that case, I suggest you follow below.

    Step 1:

In the search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select it from the results.

    Step 2:

Select the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers to expand it.

    Step 3:

Look for IDT High Definition Audio CODEC. If it's listed, right-click it and select Update Driver, then select Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

    Step 4:

You’ll see a list of pre-installed drivers. Select High Definition Audio Device, and then select Next.

    Step 5:

    Restart PC

Let me know the results after performing the above.
