    PC Bluescreening when trying to run a game


    This issue started yesterday, specifically with the game black desert online. I have never bluescreened up until now. I have tried multiple programs/methods of updating drivers, and repairing registries and files, yet it still blue screens. I have restarted, ran scans, supposedly repaired messed up files and even got the game to work again last night after rolling my pc back to a previous version with the restore feature. Getting on again today the game blue screens after loading again, the stop codes I get are as follows, "KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED", "KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE", and "IR

    One possible reason as to why you're encountering this concern is due to compatibility issues with the game and the Windows 10 PC. For us to determine the root cause, kindly answer the following questions:

    • Did you download the games from the Windows Store?
    • What are the games affected?

    To find out if your Windows 10 PC meets the game requirements, kindly visit this

    If the same issue occurs after finding out that your device meets the game requirements, kindly perform the followings steps to run the games in compatibility mode:

    • Press and hold (or right-click) the program, select Properties, and then select the Compatibility tab.
    • Select the Run compatibility troubleshooter to run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

    I would suggest you to refer the below link and check the compatibility of the game with Windows 10.

    You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
    Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.


          • Right-click on the game setup file and click on
            ‘properties’.

          • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
            ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
    If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.
