Windows 10: PC Boots ok but am getting error code 2144927142

Running Windows 10 Pro on a Dell Insiron 560 Desktop. 64 Bit. 8 GB Memory. All updates installed.
My system boots ok and I can open Apps (e.g. Chrome) but my system then hangs.
In Event Viewer I see: Error 18-Apr-17 7:19:04 AM Apps 5973 (5973)
- EventData AppId Microsoft.Windows.CloudExperienceHost_cw5n1h2txyewy!App ErrorCode -2144927142
It takes around 7 or 8 minutes to resolve itself but I cannot use the pc. Help!

I am getting the following error code.

Your PC needs to be repaired

The boot configuration data file is missing some required information

FIle: \Boot\BCD

Error Code: 0xc0000000d

I have tried to access the boot menu using all of the known F keys in order to fix it, but it stays on this error screen. Any suggestions?

 

Hi bazzak and welcome to Tenforums.
I would suggest starting with a few things:

- Turn off Fast Startup
Turn On or Off Fast Startup in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials
Shut the machine down/boot it back up (not a restart).

- Uninstall all Dell bloatware
Reboot

- Open an Admin Command Prompt and enter
Code: sfc /scannow[/quote] Run SFC Command in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Customization Tutorials
Verify the result is "no integrity violations found".
If it finds errors, reboot and run it again, as many as 3 times.
If it's still finding errors, open an Admin Command Prompt and enter
Code: findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"[/quote] Find the text file on your desktop and post the log here.

 

Please also download and run Crystal Disk Info.
CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World
Then run CHKDSK on your drive.

Could you also check your Reliability History-----control panel>security and maintenance> maintenance..If the only option given is "Check for a solution",then RIGHT click on it,which will give a drop down menu,then left click on "View Technical Details".This will give a data report,The first two lines can be used to search Microsoft and/or Google,also the line "Bucket ID".If it is a display adapter problem,then use Display Driver Uninstaller to completely remove the driver and install the latest driver available for your card.
PS download the latest driver BEFORE uninstalling. Nvidea cards give nvlddmkm.sys as the problem source.
