I am not sure if it's a hardware or a software issue and havent really tried doing anything with it. But i checked for viruses using windows defender and tried a diffrent port to connect the ssd.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Miguel O., Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue!

I would suggest to update UEFI before anything else.

Then the SSDs themselves might need a firmware update too.

Lastly, make sure the drive priority is set to the one that contains the ESP (EFI System Partition) to avoid unnecessary delay (UEFI > Boot and then look for a drive order setting, not the boot order by itself)

If your problem persists or the problem is fixed please keep me posted!

Windows sometimes boots up quickly and sometimes slowly

    Greetings mates.

    Directly getting to point...

So, the problem is, my Windows 10 (all updates installed as on 28 March 2022, i.e. today) sometimes boots up quickly and sometimes slowly, these variances are indefinite, they happen randomly. (I have an SSD)

Case 1: sometimes my pc boots up quickly in about 3-8 seconds. (Now you might say this is a bit too fast for an SSD, but I like my pc clean without any startup apps)

Case 2: and sometimes its boots up slowly in about 15-20 seconds. (Here the difference doesn't seem much but trust me, I feel that difference and it's sometimes frustrating)

(PS: I'm telling you the time I measured after entering my unlock PIN, the booting time before entering the PIN remains the same in both cases)

This happens randomly, I have two startup apps running, neither of them is responsible as I tried disabling them both (the slow-fast thingy continues to happen)

This waiting time occurs after I enter my unlocking pin (i.e. right before I can see my desktop) (i.e. the loading time where the lock screen pic is blurred, hope you got in which exact part of the boot process the pc slows downPC boots slowly with second SSD :)

I've tried the following things, but none of them fixed the problem.

    1. Turning OFF fast startup and then turning it ON again.
    2. Graphics drivers (Intel UHD 610) up to date
    3. Also tried increasing my virtual memory
    4. SSD (and controllers) drivers up to date
    5. Power plan set to ultimate performance
My pc is powered by a 240GB SSD and 8 gigs of RAM
