Windows 10: PC Connected to Wifi, Many applications cannot connect to wifi

Hey All.My PC is currently connected to wifi using a a PCIE expansion card Intel Wireless-AC 9260 160mhz my browser, steam and all default windows applications work as expected. However there are some applications that cannot connect to wifi including discord and nordvpn, after more testing i found out that league of legends, minecraft launcher and battle net cannot connect to wifi. Ethernet is not an option.I have been troubleshooting for days now and tried most things and i am getting a bit desperate for a fix. Tried resetting firewall, command prompts, updating drivers, updating windows,

Wifi Auto Connect


I have a PC out in my building and it runs off wifi, sometimes my modem shuts down and reboots but it will take like 5-10 minutes unless I go all the way back to the house and power cycle it. The problem is my windows 10 is set to auto connect to it but never does unless I click the wifi drop down list then it will reconnect, I was wondering if anyone knows an application that tries to reconnect to a specific wifi more aggressively than windows 10 it gets annoying because if I need to use the pc I cant just look across the room to see if my modem is back, I have to go and check the wifi then it connects.

 

When will the wifi connectivity problems be solved?


OK, so the Windows 10 engineers bollixed up the wifi connectivity part of the operating system. Everybody knows that by now. It seems they are making some progress in resolving it. Now, instead of seeing "Secured, No Internet" on your list of wifi connections, you see "Connected, Secured" EXCEPT no webpages will load. So you really aren't connected. It does seem to be a step in the right direction. Does anybody know when they plan on a full and complete repair of this screw up of epic proportions?

 

Assigning a default WiFi connection

Is there any specific way to force Windows to connect to a certain WiFi connection?

Since my PC keeps connecting to a commercial WiFi hotspot rather than to my home network when it boots.

Things I have tried:

• "Connect to suggested WiFi hotspots" has been turned off
• Home network has been set to "connect automatically" when connecting
  
• Hotspot networks have been "forgotten" in the WiFi settings

Is there anything else I can try to fix this problem?
