DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION Windows 11 - amdppm.sys....

    Hi,

Hoping someone can help me, it would be much appreciated!

Windows version: Windows 11, 10.0, version 2009, build: 22631 (x64)

Hardware: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING

CPU: AuthenticAMD AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 8664, level: 25

Processor count: 24 logical processors, active mask: 16777215

RAM: 32678.6MB Corsair Pro Vengeance

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 4090

HDD Samsung 980 PRO NVMe M.2 SSD

A few days ago, I was playing a game and my PC crashed. It now freezes or BSOD every few minutes and instantly when I try to load a game. Over the last few days, I have tried the following to try and fix the issue:

    • Updated bios
    • Restored to another point
    • Did a total reset of Windows 11
    • Removed windows 11 and did a fresh install of Windows 10
    • Reverted back to Windows 11
    • Ensured all drivers are up to date:
    • AMD chipset drivers ..SSD firmware ....GPU drivers.....Windows drivers/updates
    • I have ran various systems and HDD checks ...SFC SCAN...Chkdsk...DISM
    • I did a stress test on CPU/GPU all fine
    • I also Did temperature check CPU and GPU running around 44 degrees 111 Fahrenheit
    • I did another reset of windows 11 and tried all the above again

The BSOD displays the following error DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. Today a read a post on this site regarding make a registry value change to the amdppm.sys file, this actually worked as I was able to load a game(not system intensive) without it freezing but when I tried a more system heavy game it froze but this time with the this error VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR. Now I'm back to the freezing again and the PC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error.

I think it’s in some kind of issue with the CPU/amdppm.sys as checking in device manager i see the following:

I built the PC myself a few months ago and no new Hardware changes or installs have been made since the original build.

Please see basic crash dump info below:
