PC crashed after 20 seconds of launching any game - No BSOD, Error is "VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE"...

Hello everyone,a few days after updating to Windows 11 now WIN10, yesterday, my PC crashed for the first time. To be more precise: The screen suddenly went black, saying NO SIGNAL, then the mouse went dark. The Lights of the PC were still active though. After 2 minutes or so, a restart had occurred. The PC is a HP Pavillion Gaming PCI thought the issue might be with Windows 11, so after getting several more crashes after half a minute of launching and playing a game, I reset my Windows back to WIN 10.The problem is still there. I updated all my drivers, still crashing. It seems to be crashing

    :)

  2. BSOD error: [video_tdr_failure nvlddmkm.sys] after every boot

For the past few days I have been receiving the BSOD error video_tdr_failure nvlddmkm.sys shortly after the system tells me a display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.

Once the PC restarts after this BSOD, the error message comes up again but legitimately recovers and I'm free to play games or watch videos.

Now just today, the BSOD has stopped and the computer just freezes where it would have usually gone into BSOD. The PC does not respond to any command after this crash and the power button is the only way to reset it.

These problems only started after I updated to the new NVIDIA game ready driver (the 31st August update).

The graphics card in question (there is also an integrated graphics card, I believe the dedicated graphics only kick in when required): (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M) http://puu.sh/k1V4g/842d6d5e5e.png

    What I am running:

    • Win 10 64bit
    • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M
    • i7-4810MQ
    • DDR3L 8GBx2

What I have tried so far:

    • Rolling back the driver through device manager
    • Manually downloading the latest driver for my graphics card through the NVIDIA website
    • Using the windows troubleshooting tool
Any help is much appreciated. Let me know if there is any additional information you require to help provide a solution.

  3. video_tdr_failure BSOD error Windows 10

So twice today I've had my laptop crash to BSOD with "video_tdr_failure igdkmd64.sys" listed as the error code. The system would lock up briefly, then the screen would go black with just the mouse cursor in the middle but not responsive, before dropping
to the BSOD after a minute or so.

Does anyone have any ideas what the issue is?

    Hardware info:

    Manufactuer: Acer

    Model: Aspire E5-571

    OS Build: 10240

    Processor: Intel Core i3-4005U

    RAM: 4GB

    GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4400

Driver: 10.18.15.4248 (Auto-installed through Windows Update on October 15th)

    Thanks in advance

[UNSOLVED] BSOD when launching games (and more?)

Just to update, after updating the driver to a newer but still old version, I went ahead to the Nvidia website again and updated to the latest Nvidia driver, restarted and played both games.

Both games crashed the PC with a BSOD, the second time after the PC restarted, it actually crashed just after signing in, making it a total of 3 crashes. The only time my PC seem to get a BSOD outside of loading a game, is when a game causes a BSOD, PC restarts
and then it can (but not always) cause an immediate BSOD - not sure if this helps?

After this BSOD, PC has been on with just browser and a couple of other apps running with no issues again. Minidumps of those latest 3 crashes here - https://we.tl/t-OXM6H3isql
