Hello,I've posted about this issue before but its started happening again and I'm not sure what to do. The last fix I used was given to me by someone working at NVIDIA, who instructed me to switch my PC to performance mode in the power options and that helped resolve the issue, but its recently started happening again and I haven't changed any settings. I had a few months of no problems, so I'm not sure what changed. 1. I'm playing a game/watching a video on YT and the screen freezes, audio persists for a bit, and then the whole computer powers off and restarts.2. I'm doing the same things as

PC loses signal to monitor


While I play a video game, FPS in game start dropping and the monitor loses signal, but the PC is still working. Today I tried the thingy with Capslock and after I pressed it two times, my PC stopped. After I turned it back on it booted, but a black screen appeared and not the logo and after that it rebooted itself and now it's working. I can't play video games at all anymore.

My CPU is i5-3450 3.10 and graphic card GTX 650.

I had this problem even on previous version of windows.

I can watch movies and videos on chrome fine, but when I play games the hell unleashes.

Please help me *Sad.

 

Pc on but no signal to monitor.

I got a 2nd hand pc just recently and I decided to play on it for a bit. It was working fine for a few hours but then it suddenly crashed and had to restart. I restarted it but then it got stuck on the boot screen so I force restarted. Now the pc is on(Lights,fans etc. On) but the monitor and keyboard are not getting a signal.

lately ive been encounterting this issue occasionally while gaming or watching movies through my plex server. i'd be playing a game while chatting with friends on discord as usual. suddenly the screen turns black then loses signal. however, i can still hear game and discord audio for few seconds. after that the pc restarts and the monitor turns on. i do not encounter this issue while browsing the internet, replying to emails or when the pc is idle. it only *seems* to happen when there is a load on the pc be it a video game, discord, streaming media.

to temporarly fix this id just let the pc reboot then resume my activities, but this has been occuring more often.

i tried switching to an hdmi cable (i use DP), removing and reinstalling all video drivers, trying a different monitor. same issue.

the only thing that seems to trigger this issue is the activity thats being done on the pc. right now ive been using the pc for few hours and nothing happened. but if i open a couple of programs or play something the issue happens again. not immediatly though, the time it can happen varies, sometimes its few minutes and sometimes few hours. a couple of times the monitor would regain signal and everything returns to normal, but most of the times the pc restarts.

i did some research online and it seems like it might be a faulty GPU or PSU. HOPEFULLY its the psu since its almost a decade old while my 4070 is only 8months old and has been working perfectly.
