Windows 10: PC Crashing after trying to install new Nvidia Drivers, then reboots to automatic repair...

Hello,For a long time now I've had major driver issues with my windows 11 pc. I've reinstalled windows and tried multiple things, as well as trying different RAM and troubleshoots, but nothing seems to help.When I try to uninstall, reinstall or install new drivers my pc does a black screen out of nowhere and reboots, and then force reboots an additional 2 times, and then starts Automatic Repair, which always leads to "Windows couldn't load correctly: System Restore can try to restore your pc to an earlier point in time".I'm a video editor and many of the programs I need to use are almost unusa

Automatic GPU drivers installed

Hey guys for the past 6 months I've been running a gtx 580 and I've just sent it back today as part of the step up program to get the gtx 680. For the next 2 weeks I will be using my old 9800 gtx+. I installed the card and booted the computer and upon getting to the windows screen, windows searched automatically online and installed drivers. I rebooted and checked the driver version, and sure enough, it had found and installed the latest drivers for my card.

I've always manually installed drivers by starting up the nvidia process and all that, what windows did, was it a sufficient driver install? When I get the gtx 680, I'm assuming it will do this again, would it be a smart idea to manually install the driver or would windows version do the exact same thing? Thanks guys.

 

Windows 10 Automatic Repair Loop with Nvidia Card

Hi,

Windows 10 has been on my i7 PC since release and has not been a problem other than the minor issue I had with NVidia drivers right at the start which was quickly sorted.

Booted PC today and all seemed fine. Saw a brief notification from Nvidia update software stating new settings for a game had been downloaded and then a few moments later, with PC idling, it encountered a critical error and rebooted.

The reboot led to Diagnosing PC error and then Automatic Repair. Auto Repair does not fix it however no matter what options I choose or what safe mode I choose.

Am not technically minded and cannot even get access to PC to get a list of hardware. :-(

Any help much appreciated.
