    pc crashing for months with "NVIDIA-NVTOPPS-FILTER"


    I have this crash around 2 months ago, every time it crash the screen will be freezed and can't control like ctrl+alt+del, but the sound is keep playing. At start it freezed when playing any game from Elden Ring to LOL within 1 hour I turned on the computer, wait for a long time it may restart itself, but mostly I restart it manually. After the restart sometimes may freeze 1 or 2 times more, it won't be freeze for rest of the day until turn it off and rest to the next day. Unluckily my pc will freezed during browsing too recently maybe it just freeze randomly, my usage habits are browsing

    PC SHUTS OFF. event viewer says something about "NVIDIA-NVTOPPS-NVLOGS"

    My PC randomly keeps restarting, I check event viewer and the common pattern seems to show something about

    1. "Session "NVIDIA-NVTOPPS-NVLOGS" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188"
    2. The maximum file size for session "NVIDIA-NVTOPPS-NVLOGS" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\nvtopps\nvlog.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 bytes.

      I'm not sure how to go about this since the internet tells me nothing about this issue.

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
    Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
    If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

    P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
    Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
    What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

    PC Crashing for the Past Month

    Your minidump files al indicate it is the Nvidia drivers causing the system to crash, there is no other contributory factor listed.

    I understand you have used DDU to remove the Nvidia drivers, have you tried installing a couple of slightly older versions of the drivers to try to find a version that is stable on your system?
