Windows 10: PC crashing/force restarting consistently while gaming.

I put together my own build just a few days ago and had no issues whatsoever during setup and installing all my software, but as soon I've started to game on it it is consistently crashing at around 15 and 30 minute intervals. Ive tried all the troubleshooting I can through this forum and others, using information ive found through benchmarking and event viewer. Ive managed to rule out overheating as at most the components only reach about 60-70° and aren't usually at full utilisation right before the crashing. I also dont think its a power supply issue as thats the only new part and it should

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

Are you running the game as Administrator?

Are you running the latest GPU drivers?

Did you install or uninstall anything after the first time you played it?

Computer freezes while gaming and i'm forced to restart the pc

I'm pretty sure the issue isn't "monitor" related as a monitor wouldn't cause games to crash and force a PC restart. Sounds like the PC is over heating or there's an issue with the GPU itself.

Of course it's all guesswork without proper system specs. It would also help if the OP gave us an example of a game(s) they're having issues with.

And yes, it might be worthwhile to uninstall Afterburner to see if the issue persists.
