  1. PC crashing repeatedly after June 2023 updates

I was on vacation June 15-21 and it worked when I got back. In the past couple of days it has been booting then crashing within a few seconds. Sometimes it can't even boot at all and just instantly crashes. I've tried uninstalling the update but it fails. I've done a system reset and system restore with no improvement. I need my machine running for work Monday morning. Please help!

    :)

  2. June 2023 update

To mitigate the vulnerability associated with CVE-2023-32019, install the June 2023 Windows update or a later Windows update. By default, the fix for this vulnerability is disabled. To enable the fix, you must set a registry key value based on your Windows operating system.

    Registry location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides

    DWORD name: 4103588492

    Value data: 1
Any idea how to do this & do I really need to update my Windows 10 Pro?

This update addresses an issue that affects the Windows Kernel. This issue is related to CVE-2023-32019. To learn more, see KB5028407.

    June 2023 update

I installed KB5027215 yesterday and everything works fine for me.

But... you might want to read:

    - Windows 10 KB5027215 issues discovered minutes after release

    - Windows 10 KB5027215 update is causing installation issues for some users

With regard to the registry editing, I won't do it as I'm a normal user and don't see any danger luring.

In my opinion: If you are a normal home user, stay away from doing any registry fiddling in this case.
