Windows 10: PC desktop screen seems corrupted

After bootup, the desktop icons are visible against a whitish background, overlaid by a page from a previously loaded file.


How can I get normalize the icons and get rid of the overlay file image? I have already deleted the file from Documents. It was not a Word file but an image of an Internet document. (I suspect the document, from a German source, may have caused this dysfunction.)


Also, my HP PC is very slow to respond after bootup. Not sure if these are related conditions.

Screen corruption with X1300

...what do you mean by "screen corrupts"?. in any case, its a BAD thing, and I suggest you undo whatever overclock you have. you're doing nothing but hurting your VGA card by keeping it up higher then its supposed to be. bring your clocks down...WAY down, and then work you're way up slowly until you find the max stable MANUALLY. ATITool may be awesome, but if you're having problems with "screen corruption", then this card is an exception.

 

Poll: Desktop Screen Size

This goes along with my Desktop Screen Res poll. A lot of people have been posting their monitor size in addition to voting in the poll, but I wanted to make an actual poll to put the screen size votes in a more easily readable format.

This is for desktop systems, not laptops. I've tried to include all screen sizes that people are likely to have; if yours is not listed, round up. If you have multiple, different-sized screens, check all that apply. I've also listed projectors as an option.

I didn't list individual sizes over 32" as these are typically not intended as PC monitors; just select "Larger."

 

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??
