Windows 10: PC display looks strange

Opened my laptop today, search box is gone. No option to "show search box" after right clicking on the taskbar and then clicking on "Search".Messed around with display settings and resolution. Didn't help.Icons on the taskbar are wider for some reason too.Tabs and search box are elongated on Microsoft edge for some reason.Laptop isn't on tablet mode either.Currently have the latest update installed. I had this problem yesterday which I thought was fixed after restarting my laptop a couple of times and so I deleted my other question. But however, it came back, and I don't really want to restart

Before I can assist you with your issue, I would like you to answer a few questions stated below:

• • Did you install the display driver after you upgraded to Windows 10?
  • Did you make any other changes to your computer after you upgraded to Windows 10?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if that helps.

Uninstalling and Downloading driver.

Please follow the steps given below to uninstall the Display Adapters and Graphics driver.

• Click on the Start button, and type “Device Manager” on the search bar.
• Open Device Manager, expand "Display Adapters” and “Graphic".
• Find and double-click Display Adapters and Monitors driver from the left panel to uninstall.
• Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
• Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click
  OK to remove the driver.
• After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer.
• After you have successfully uninstalled the driver, please go to the computer manufacturer’s website, download the Windows 10 Display adapters and Graphics driver for your computer and check.

Display was not migrated

Hi,

I understand the above solution didnt work so as to next step in solving your issue I suggest you follow the below.

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and type Device Manager

Step 2:

Under Device Manager expand Display Adapter

Step 3:

Right-click on Adapters listed one by one and select Properties

Step 4:

Select the Drivers tab

Step 5:

Click on Uninstall Device

Step 6:

Repeat step 3 to 5 for all listed adapters under Display Adapter

Step 7:

Restart PC and verify
