Windows 10: PC freezes and I cant do anything

So as the title suggests, sometimes my PC will freeze for no reason. Typically this occurs while I play games, and can happen even while I'm not doing anything (nothing open, sitting on the desktop seconds after logging in) One time it froze while I was watching YouTube! Here is how it typically goes: I'm playing a game (Rust for example) and just running around. Spotify is open in the background and I'm listening to music. All of a sudden, the music stops and my screen freezes in a single second. Pressing escape twice doesn't work. Pressing any button does nothing, the time stops changing on my second monitor. I can't do anything. One time I tried to turn my monitors off and on and the screen just turned green. The only way to escape is to reboot it manually using the power button. There is no error, and when I reboot my PC it just acts like nothing happened... It definitely is something wrong with the computer and not the games I play because it freezes while I do nothing... I also recently did a fresh install of Windows 10, it still crashes. Any tips/advice? I will also be posting this elsewhere.

To isolate your Windows 10 freezing issue, kindly answer the following questions:

• Aside from this error, are you also getting other error codes or messages?
• Where do you usually experience this freezing issue? Is it during startup?
• Other troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

@Maban - does GPU-Z fail the same way for you the way it does for me? I.e. total system freeze/lockup, requiring a hard reset?

@W1zzard - I will try the suggested steps later today, as I am not near that PC at the moment.
