Windows 10: PC freezes and says there are drive errors

So basically, recently my PC completely freezes if I'm playing a game or have it on in the background, an issue it previously didn't have. When this happens, I sort of panic and shut it down. When I turn it back on, it checks the disk and then resumes use until I play a game and it does it again.I tried running the cmd and doing the check disk, but it stops after 35, why, I don't know. So I do it through advanced start up, it does it, restarts my PC, and I check the state of my hard drive and it says it's fine. Yet, now, when the issue happens again, it says my drive has errors when previously

• Where do you usually experience this freezing issue? Is it during startup?
• Other troubleshooting steps you've tried so far?

CD drive error

1) Close all open programs
2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

UpperFilters
LowerFilters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
7) Reboot your computer
8) Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

And it likely has something to do with the emulated drive you have listed there.

 

My computer is not detecting the drive when it starts up, but when it does the pc freezes and restarts saying ran into an error

the pc is a dell 9020 and it keeps freezing saying it ran into an error then restarting not detecting the drive in it
