Windows 10: PC Freezes During All Video Playback (YouTube, Netflix, etc.)

Okay, so just recently my Windows 10 laptop (Acer Aspire ES 15) has started to freeze a few minutes after I start watching a video, whether it be on YouTube or Netflix. The whole system COMPLETELY freezes (cursor unresponsive, Ctrl+Shift+Esc won't open task manager, Ctrl+Alt+Del won't bring up security options menu), and I have to shut down by holding the power button, so all unsaved work is lost. I have a very low-end PC, but I know it is not because of the specs because it never used to do this. This also happened once or twice when I was installing Windows 10 in VirtualBox just for fun. If I have to reset my PC and remove all files and reset all settings, so be it. But I REALLY don't want to do that. If you have any solutions, please respond!

Troubleshooting help: YouTube videos won't play on Windows 10 PC

I just got a new Windows 10 PC & I'm finding that it won't play YouTube videos. Specifically YouTube. In the video area the loading indicator circles indefinitely and I see this message...

Additional info & steps I've tried...

• Netflix plays flawlessly
  
• Other Macs, PCs, iOS & Android devices on the same network play YouTube videos no problem
  
• I restarted the machine
  
• Restarted the cable modem
  
• The machine can do other Internet stuff fine -- browse websites, email, etc.
  
• I cleared the browser cache & browsing data
  
• I tried a different browser (I tried Chrome & MS Edge)
  
• I looked under "Windows Defender Security Center > App & browser control" but I don't see anything there about blocking videos.
  
• Turned off ad blocker
  
• Tried connecting via Ethernet and wi-fi
  
• No peripherals connected to the machine

YouTube Video Playback Problem

i suggest you get a program called SUPER it's free and encodes video to prepare for youtube uploads.

camstasia is good too.

 

Video Playback

When I open any kind of video playback such as Netflix, youtube, or my DVD Player, it always plays the video super zoomed in and in black and white.
