Windows 10: Pc freezes not showing up on event viewer until now

Hi Ive been having issues with my pc for some time. It randomly freezes out of nowhere for no rhyme or reason sometimes when opening a program, other times when sitting idle and the thing is those freezes never showed up on event viewer until today. I would really appreciate it if someone could look in to the logs and see whats causing the issue cause I have no idea what they mean. The freeze happened today in the morning at 9:27 am on the screen where you enter your password right after booting up the pc. I also had secon freeze at around 10:04 am when I was originally typing this post fro

I suggest you re-install the video driver. I'll add a few words of explanation about Event viewer in a moment. They won't affect the need to reinstall that driver as your first step. Denis

 

Event Viewer freezes

Hi

further to my original question I found out that after opening a second (or third, fourth) event viewer then the property of any event can displayed as many times as wanted without mmc getting freezed. Same applies to task scheduler or even if eg task scheduler
is opened followed by event viewer then within event viewer properties can be displayed as many times as wanted.

But task scheduler gets freezed after the first property display unless a second task scheduler is opened then

properties can be displayed as wanted.

Which means only the first mmc gets stuck after displaying a property but consecutive mmc display properties work as desired.

(nb I did SFC/DISM and even did an inplace upgrade - all in vain)

And as stated any other user account works as it should be - only this "primary" user account has this problem.

The (first) mmc which hangs shows the wait chain as "deadlock" but I cannot find any other process which may have

an impact.

Anyone having any hint to what might have a relation to the freezing mmc/deadlock?

Event Viewer stopped showing new events

I go to Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > Diagnostics-Performance > Operational.

But there are no events listed for the past several weeks even though I’ve rebooted many times during that period.

I clicked the Refresh button in the right column and this added one new event - the latest event 100. But no Event Viewer showing the system was shut down. I did several cold reboots so there should be many new entries but that’s not the case.

In the right column I looked at Operational > Properties. “Overwrite events as needed" is checked.

Any idea why new events are not showing up?
