Windows 10: PC freezes on startup, only works if i push the restart button.

When i press my power up button, the pc starts but freezes in a black screen i think it's windows cause the resolution jumps from 1024x768 to 1920x1080 if the boot loads the osAt this stage i can't do anything, i know it's a freeze cause preessing caps/num lock doesn't change the keyboard lights. The only way i'm managing to get to windows is to push the restart button on my cpu. My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix

Method 1:

I suggest you to perform the Startup Repair and check.

Follow the below steps:

• Click on the Start button and click on the Settings option.
• Select Update & security > Recovery.
• Go to Advanced startup and select Restart now.
• After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select
  Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I would recommend suggest you to enable the fast startup.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start icon and select Power Options.
• Click on the Choose what power buttons do on the left navigation pane.
• Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable (Enter the admin credentials if prompted).
• Check the Turn on Fast startup (Recommended) box.
• Click on Save changes.
• Restart the computer.

Windows 10 freezes on startup.

After it freezes, try unplugging the whole computer, plugging it in again, and then pushing the startup button again. Not an elegant solution, but it works for me.
