Windows 10: PC freezes randomly, either turns to black screen or stays frozen

Specs

• i5 3570K
• GTX 660Ti
• 12GB DDR3
• W10 installed on SSD

I reinstalled W10 recently and it seems like its getting more and more frequent. It happens frequently when I play games but can also happen even when I just have Word and Chrome open. Most of the times it just freezes completely and sometimes its frozen for ~30 seconds and turns to the black screen like in the video.

Is the issue only fixable by buying a new PC? I know my build is pretty old but it was behaving fine up until recently.

Windows 10 freezes randomly

I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin

I had tried that as well... no result.

 

samsung focus frozen on samsung screen!

my samsung focus is frozen on the samsung screen when it turns on. it randomly turned off and on , by itself but it stayed stuck on the samsung screen. i tried the master reset but it still freezes on the samsung screen.. how can i fix it without taking
it in ?

just happened again. I have this PC connected to a TV via HDMI.

when the freeze occurs, i can tell I lose control of inputs (mouse/keyboard) and the screen turns black for a couple of seconds, returns for an instant (again frozen), and then goes black. audio seems to continue, but bugged out. the hard drive activity light stays solid. when the hard drive activity light stops, so does the audio.

*also i notice google chrome seems to bug out on me. randomly certain tabs will not load, and remain all white, and not respond.
