Windows 10: PC freezes shortly after I close a game

After I close a game, a few minutes later my applications crash, but I can still move my mouse, but I cannot close anything. When I try restarting I'm met with an infinite restart screen that doesn't actually restart because as soon as I try ctrl + alt + del again the "restart" stops as if I never started it. My only option each time is to force shutdown using the power button on the PC itself. Signing out does not fix the issue either. This has been happening for a couple days now. I have tried using DISM.exe and sfc /scannow, they found a corrupted file and fixed it, but my issue still persi

Thank you for the help. I went through all the suggestions you offered. None of the scans returned any errors. I also went through the steps on the page you linked to.

In addition, I also ran "mdsched.exe" and a disk check, which also returned no errors.

Unfortunately, the problem has not gone away. My computer freezes shortly after logging in.

Do you have any other suggestions for diagnostics I might be able to use?

 

PC crashing after closing games

Hi Morning,

I have tried both of those things you have suggested but to no avail.

I have paid a pc specialist to come around and have a look and they made sure bios and drivers were up to date but couldnt replicate the crashes ive been getting.

I am still managing to play the one game i have with friends.

Sometimes if i logout back to main menu of game it will crash, restart pc. other times it wont and then other times it crashes, restarts pc shortly after closing game

I recently relocated my stationary PC, and since then, I've been experiencing issues with both Steam games and other games. Specifically, when launching Steam games, the loading screen freezes after a few seconds, causing Task Manager to crash, ultimately requiring a PC restart. Additionally, non-Steam games tend to close abruptly after 2-3 minutes of gameplay.

Error Message: No specific error messages are displayed; however, the loading screen freeze for Steam games prompts Task Manager to crash.

• Game Platform: facing issues with Steam games or other gaming platforms like epic games
  

Actions Taken: I have already taken the following steps to address the issue:

1. Updated all drivers.
   
2. Attempted various troubleshooting methods found online.
   
3. Updated the BIOS to the latest version.
   

Despite these efforts, the problem persists, and I am unsure about the root cause. Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
