    Hi,I've had this problem for ages now. Occasionally, my PC freezes and I have to long press the power button of my computer in order to force a restart and get the computer to work again. Usually I've noticed that it occurs while I am playing video games. Sometimes but not always, a BSOD appears, and the error code is pretty much always DPC_Watchdog_Violation.I've analyzed a minidump file using WinDBG, don't know how helpful this is - For analysis of this file, run !analyze -vnt!KeBugCheckEx:fffff802`5e61a240 48894c2408 mov qword ptr [rsp+8],rcx ss:fffff802`5afaac80=000000000000

    Computer freezes while gaming and i'm forced to restart the pc, already tried 3 nvidia drivers with and without ddu.

    The dmp files weren't included in the log collector archive from C:\WINDOWS\LiveKernelReports\WATCHDOG so i added them to the zip file

    I'm pretty sure the issue isn't "monitor" related as a monitor wouldn't cause games to crash and force a PC restart. Sounds like the PC is over heating or there's an issue with the GPU itself.

    Of course it's all guesswork without proper system specs. It would also help if the OP gave us an example of a game(s) they're having issues with.

    And yes, it might be worthwhile to uninstall Afterburner to see if the issue persists.

    Computer Hard Freezes Randomly - No Error logs or Memory dumps


    I posted on Sevenforums a few days ago regarding this issue:
    I was suggested to check for temps (all were normal) and perform a clean install of Windows 10 (I had upgraded from Windows 7). I had another hard freeze today similar to the ones I was having before. The issue is back and I'm unsure of what to do next. Is this no longer a software issue if reinstalling the OS was unsuccessful?
